5col Survival Supply Parachute Cord is nylon cord with 11 core strands.  The specification mandates that true MIL-C-5040H Type 4 cord have 11 core strands.  Each core strand in 5col's paracord is 3-ply.  One of these strands is the designated marker strand, with a different color yarn.  This marker strand acts as an identifier for military parachute riggers. Should one of the parachute lines fail, the riggers will know which factory it came from.
This type of paracord is tested up to 750 lbs, unlike the more common 550 paracord.  5col Survival Supply only sells paracord
